I flew about 5 or so seasons with B412/212ís on fires in Australia and honestly the heavy aircraft have their place.

until youíve seen them in action on the fires where they had devastating effect...

think right tool for the job, you donít use 10 ball peen hammers to do the job of a sledgehammer.

thats sort of true. CASA only accepts faa type ratings depending on the sim itself, what approvals the training organization has and then what casa themselves approve etc. thereís a lot more too it...

no idea, but the FAA process is the same from any icao country as far as licensing goes. Right to work in the USA is a different can of worms entirely.

thereís no difference not having an FAA certificate so long as the applicant has an ICAO license and meets the part 61 mins and has a letter of validation that not expired going in to the type rating...

haha I hope youíre joking. You do realize that virgin Australia is smaller than most regionals in the USA? Any US carrier would have zero interested in a failing business.
