Well, I made 10 Course at Church Fenton and 48 at Oakington, with 56B Helicopter course at Ternhill between.

Names on the JP course were: Prattis Palmer Snelling Uren Ward Fitz-Lombard Fish Fryer...

The Bottom Line

If your cruise and descent management saves fuel vis a vis the flight plan - and mine usually did, then I can't see how the slow descent scenario can ever be better.

It is a very short sighted...

They were very lucky that the fire didn't happen in flight - or we would never have known what caused it...

On the other hand, perhaps it was leaking already and just needed the hot brakes to drip...
