Correct with the piston and turbine version, but they both are pressurised. No idea if this was turbine or piston. And it is PA-46, not 42 which is a Cheyenne III or Cheyenne 400.

Why would UK not be a member of EASA after Brexit? For example, Iceland and Norway are, and they are not members of EU. And almost forgot, Switzerland, too.

9 km visibility in feeble snowshowers and 1300 ft broken clouds should not be challenging to fly with an experienced TRE. Even for a first timer. I do not see what the extra challenge here might be.
