According to said instructor, this doesn't actually say you can add an IMC or IR(R) to an existing EASA license, only that if you have a old style license and get an IMC you will get an EASA license...

Yes, he did it in November, as soon as someone pointed out that he could. Paperwork was submitted later in November, and the CAA was persuaded to check it all in December!

My son turned 17 on Tuesday and had his license in his hand on Friday. Is this the youngest? He did the skills back in November, but the CAA couldn't issue the piece of paper til the date itself. ...
