Contact your airline's flight crew records team. They'll get in contact with AvMed and have it put to the top of the pile. That's what colleagues seem to be doing if it comes close to an extension....

You have to balance the conditions and career opportunities with the pay too, though. It'd be an 'easier' 12-18 working years but sacrifice a bit of pay to do so.
