Hawker Hunter down at Shoreham

If one takes the graphic as approximately correct, then the intent of the manoeuvre is to change the heading of the aircraft through about 40 degrees to line up with the display line. A loop leaves...

Purple Pitot,

Nice hand grenade, but it's probably a dud unless you tell us which post you were referring too!

UK FI Instructor Seminar

It's coming up time for me to revalidate the FI rating and I need to find a seminar. Whilst content and price are always a factor, my main difficulty will be fitting around the day job.

So far I...

Thrust levers - moving or not?

Flown both, now on the bus where they don't move. Prefer ones that move.
I presume not moving ones are quite a lot cheaper to build hence the attraction for manufacturers.

LHR - Steeper Approaches trial 14 September 2015

Chesty, my experience of Malaga is more limited than LHR but I would have to say that the controllers there generally have kittens if landing traffic is sequenced within 10 miles of each other. So...

BA762 report released (cowl doors openning)

JW
I suspect that you are a First Officer?

No.

I am also fully aware of the role of the Flight Engineer. As you say it was his job to do the walk round. Just as it is now the job ( for the...

BA762 report released (cowl doors openning)

The point I am attempting to make is that it is not possible or realistic for the Captain to check all work carried out on the aircraft. It is also reasonable to delegate jobs to the F/O, especially...

BA762 report released (cowl doors openning)

Ok, for those of you who think the Capt should ALWAYS do the walk round, here's a question.

The jetty has been the removed and you are about to push back when the purser tells you the toilet tank...

BA762 report released (cowl doors openning)

Wiggy,
The problem is that now the workforce have been well and truly deskilled any relaxation that allowed manual thrust handling would lead to an increase in the number of 'events', thus...

Best shoe for an airline pilot

I rather like Doc Martins. They are comfortable and the air ware sole is oil resistant and contains no metal. They went "trendy" a few years back and it can be a bit difficult to source a plain black...

CTOT -5 at LGW

Over the last week I have had a slot caused by en- route issues and the controllers at LGW have done an excellent job of getting me away at exactly CTOT-5. I think it's down to how busy the airfield...

A320 ADR 2 Fault

I think it's a REQUIREMENT rather than a recommendation.

New BA LHR-SZG route - are they having a laugh?

Belay my comment above, Chris is correct. My prices were from Gatwick, which I realise is a bit downmarket but does not usually produce a saving of over 7000 pounds!

New BA LHR-SZG route - are they having a laugh?

Well looking at going out on the 8th and back on the 14th the prices are 51 pounds each way including taxes and with no hold bags. 66 pounds each way withhold baggage. Sounds reasonable to me.
