Exceptional work

From someone who’s not flown the GR1/4 for 15 years, you’re doing an exceptional job. I look forward to seeing the finished project.

Hmmmh

Rotate at the appropriate speed and you have to be something special (needs) not to get the Fin airborne on 2 engines, whether back in the 80s with Mk 101s or now in the 2010s with 103s. A clean fit...

Point of Order

However unimpressive any of us now or ever looked like, the correct term is 'Bomber pilot' not 'Fighter pilot'.

......making history, not movies, or some such.

For what it's worth.....

It wasn't the Staish and the PEdO ten years ago, it was actually the Staish (42) and StanF (aged 37). The dropout rate was truly appalling, many of them retrying the test post remedial training, but...

All true! Tom led from the front by attending even fewer 9 o'clock lectures at Bristol Uni than I did, which is saying something. He completed the entire BUAS syllabus in the same time most of us...

A True Gent

I was immensely fortunate to serve with Rod on 1 Sqn at Linton from 95-98. His advice was priceless, his war-stories re clawing into the air in a Shackleton Mk 3 from somewhere hot and sweaty...

For anyone who's put up with the perma-grim commercial climate of the rest of the world for the past few years, I would say it's definitely worth it - though it's always a gamble and I admit the...

Union Jack,

Yep, Learning all the time and it never gets any easier.

Nope, nothing Freudian. Blame jet lag and too many 'welcome home' beers in the local after a dry trip. Soapboxes always...

Jackonicko - You're right

Whatever your view of the Royals, qualifications always incur a price in terms of real sweat. There is a strong argument that the heir to the thrown should have a working knowledge of those services...

A new low

Quite appalled by this thread. Of the eclectic mix of intelligent, well-informed, humorous and occasionally downright piss-taking threads I've enjoyed on PPrune, this one is the very first I can...

Last GR1 sortie

Jackonicko

The last GR1 sortie I flew was at Lossie on 26 Jun 2002. The aircraft was ZA411 (a trainer - allocated codes TT by XV(R) at the time - assuming my logbook is accurate). That doesn't...

Bowled Over!

I am totally shocked. I had no idea of Dave's illness until I read the prior posts - the downside of being outide the RAF loop now. I'd be immensely grateful if someone could provide Ros's contact...
