Why bother with any carry on item ??

Those serious about taking down an airliner only need to walk on ... no need for anything but themselves.
But Few are listening to the Achilles heel below ...

Please don't come to China

Gents , lots of good points made from several out there.

China is great for the right pilot - RSP etc works pretty well. Not all beer n skittles and the leave is a definite issue.

But , as a...

CSA stuff

I would have to concur that the comments about Tasman are rather 'nasty'.

Frankly, if you are happy where you are then don't bother coming.

Flaps..

Yes Airbus (330) docs say above 35 c in transit leave flaps at 1 for reduced overheat/ LE warnings.

So maybe a ccq issue with 380.

That said , it used to be the signal for hijack to leave...

Might be an internal IR issue.in the 330 this sometimes happens with no ECAM ... Because there is nothing you can do. It simply changes the aircraft status for autoland... Could be something else...

Just a thought ...

Not saying this was a factor in this incident , but in several cases , the 250 below 10000 default in the FMS has caught folks out. For example, going into a high altitude airport ( eg Nairobi /...

Part 61 Question

I sent a question to CASA some time ago but nothing back as yet.

Maybe someone out in pilot land has an idea?

Agreed

Yes, agree it seems pretty low to me?

And then you have to worry about home taxes too in many cases.

All these airlines need to get with the programme.

The bench mark salary for heavy jet...

Said before and I will say again

All this discussion about getting into the cockpit/ rogue pilot / 2 inside at any one time etc is fair given the current situation.

That said I have been banging away ( no pun intended) for about...

ECAM

Up linker ...you hit it on the head.. The ECAM is due to cross talk delays I think.

And yes, at CSA we only do manual entry, no uplink of load data.

I 'hear ' your load sheet / data entry cross...

After fuel is in (it could be out by some LMC , a bit more gas on board...
