It's what you're used to, isn't it? Modern civilian satnav wouldn't hit the market until nearly 40 years after the Trident first flew!

The technology might have been a bit steampunk by comparison...

Ergonomics weren't a big thing on any airliner back then, no matter who made them! Early 707s were famous for having slightly different cockpit...
