one would think the constraint at IMTOY would...

one would think the constraint at IMTOY would have been in the database....many airlines SOPs prohibit modifying any portion of the final approach if it is to be flown managed...

Possibly BHM is on the list of airports with database errors, requiring the egpws to be inhibited...or it was MEL'd but i suspect they descended into terrain at a high rate of descent from above ,...

Dreamland, dive n drive works ok in light aircraft, but it usually requires a change in aircraft trajectory and energy which is undesirable at low altitudes in heavy aircraft

possible as well their FPA calcs were wrong, sighting 4 reds and not wanting to "de-stabilize" (by climbing back up to the PAPI) they levelled off to re-establish the PAPI and encountered the trees...

Many approaches that don't have VNAV/LNAV minimums published, are still encoded in the database....however in FBW bus...(dont know about the A300) it is prohibited to fly these in Final Approach...
