Boeing was already aware of that...

Not wanting to disclose too much about cockpit doors, but rest assured they will unlock by design after a crash.
Just after 9/11 (when the doors were not redesigned yet) deadbolts from the cockpit...

You're right, he never said the engines stalled. He said something like that the engines probably weren't working otherwise the passengers would have heard them after which the interviewer concluded...
