I fly the 737 too actually, the only hand flying we ever do is to 1,000' AGL and it comes off at the 500 foot stabilisation gate... what's the point in having FBW for stages of flight where...

For an aircraft that is only manually flown for the best part of 30 seconds per sector, is there really a justifiable need for FBW?
