Glendale

In the 707, one would try to touch the rear tires of the trucks on the runway, and let off a little yoke pressure for a grease on.

I think I did that....once.

From what I read, she was using the HUD to fly the ILS, and was concentrating on that.

From the NTSB report, the ILS and the Visual do not match, by a lot.

Flaps 40

I flew the 737-200/300 for thousands of hours. We rarely made anything but flaps 40 landings without any problems.

Flight paths

Both the PAPI and the GS are both 3.1 degrees at KLGA according to the approach plate.

The PAPI has a TCH of 76' and the GS has a TCH of 54'

ILS 4

The approach plate for the ILS 4 at KLGA has a statement that the VGSI and the ILS are not coincident. (VGSI angle 3.10 and TCH 76) The GS angle is 3.1 and the TCH is 54.

There was another video posted in the original thread, however, the link has gone bad.

It showed the actual touchdown on the nose from a different angle than all the ones of the plane skidding...
