Not sure which figures you're looking at but for every year on the PP34 P1 Mainline scale, every pensionable pay point is higher than the basic with the exception of PP1, some of PP2, PP33 and PP34....

Basic pay at PP1 is identical, but you'll earn more in TAFB payments (Time away from base). How much more you'll take home as a result is dependent on your spending habits down route to a degree!

If you bid for it, you'll likely get it fairly promptly. Not many people want to come down to LGW but there are lots of FOs at LGW who want to go up to LHR (more fool them).
