Just shows how desperate EK is now.. I had 6300 hrs with 4500 jet and I wasn't considered qualified enough 8 months ago.. Now they taking pilots with no jet experience.. Glad I didn't wait for them...

i redid my application after the new system went...

i redid my application after the new system went up. Have 5600 total, just under 4000 on crj200's with command time, and they said i dont meet the requirements...

flyer19832007, unless you have time on a 30ton plus aircraft at the very least, dont count on EK giving you an interview.

Even then, i know people with a few 1000 hours on crj700 types who...

yeah, but they were probably taken over 2 years...

yeah, but they were probably taken over 2 years ago.. as of jan 2012 they only take pilots with time on aircraft over 55tonne... unofficially

pity they still sticking to the over 30tonne rule though... You could have 10000hours as a PIC on CRJ's but be overlooked for someone who has 3000 tt on a boeing..

How much time to you actually need on a aircraft heavier than 30ton? At the roadshow they said just 1 hour is fine, but now i hear u need 2-300 hours?

Any idea if they plan on dropping the unofficial 30ton limit any time soon? I meet all the minimum hour requirements, except that one and I am desperate to join !
