Vanished info other than (not measured) AS

:ok:

FDR in this case may not allow a "complete understanding". Lacks important info inside the loop (a/c-PF)

Bureaucracy x good Engineering

Hi,

IMHO this is RIDICULOUS. Just waiting for going directly from Normal Law to Murphy Law. :ECertification "principle" is not being properly used. The bureaucrats (of low qualification:}) are...

AoA an other unusual conditions

Why not to present this (important) info when AoA nears safe limits? Could be triggered by "rate". Warning a fast closing in to a dangerous condition. Requiring immediate action.

Certainly not...

Sub heated Pitot's

Important issue to be discussed. Simple devices with so much (Systemic) responsibility, that failed in AF447? and triggered the sequence of events.

1) System redundancy techniques are good for...

Airliners degradation (design flaws, SW bugs, incorrect algorithms, MEL issues, etc)

When facing important failures (design flawns, algorithms, etc.) you must be able to aviate and "accomplish your mission". A pilot MUST know how to, INDEPENDENTLY of the degree of TYPICAL degradation...

Trimmable Resource Automatically Positioned

PS

The designers made the algorithms. And the a/c' s really (BEA said) worked as designed.

System Engineering Design Philosophy

Automation helps but can create very dangerous situations as all of us know. This danger increases when the designers creates “tools” to help the operator introducing a “partner” with high hierarchy....

Combinational logic x Sequential logic

In Combinational logic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combinational_logic) " the output is a pure function of the present input only". E.g. the (interlock) micro switch on the door of a Cessna...

Cool Guys (http://www.pprune.org/tech-log/460625-af-447-thread-no-6-a-52.html#post6727693)

The rule is here:

Reality is richer than any Design could anticipate

Hi,

With highly capable pilots instead of just "trained operators".

IMO the training requirements are...

Finite-state machine in FBW a/c

Hi,

FBW is clearly a way to optimize an a/c. (weight reduction, easier to design with redundancy, etc.)

Question for EE and pilots acquainted with Digital FBW a/c:

The problems arise when...

Crew decision (and not automatically decided by the System)

Hi,

mm43 @ #1005

I would prefer to decide when to use the last resort. My understanding of "big red button" is of a resource not offered automatically by the System. A resource to be used...

Contrary to Airbus SAS philosophy?

Hi,

Dificult to imagine a change in their minds to implement this (very reasonable) last resort. :E "Collision" of K.I.S.S. x K.I.C.S.

Complex Systems can deliver, at certain situations,...

Stimuli in order to be able to analyze a/c "behavior"

Hi,

A lot of sense considering he was always trying to "understand".

The "inputs" PF (and crew) received

Hi,

dufc,

The "information" (we don't have it) PF received (when a/c was operating outside* it's design) led him to an "strange behavior". We need more info to understand...
