Can F/O's with families make it easily financially?

I heard from a training captain that it might be hard for a F/O to make ends meet with a family to support and 1 child that goes to school...
That is WITHOUT a working wife...
Anybody know any...

Stay in Dubai for life?

Got a phone call to interview for F/O position soon.
But... Just wondering. Are you expected to live in Dubai for the remainder of your career with Emirates? Do they even allow any commuting to DBX...
