Its not unusual to remain F/O, including experience like that of the A320 pilot mentioned, when you're with a legacy carrier. Not necessarily anything to do with skill set. Sad, but reality..

Trust me.. The real fun part is the African bush flying adventure.. Going on Night stops, in The Selous, Serengeti, Zanzibar or Arusha, after a long sweaty day of flying a C208 to camps over and over...
