I tried earlier, but it doesn't seem to be important. Here goes again...

It is legal for AF to leave the cockpit in the hands of pilots with no competence in manual flying at high altitude....

The authorities certify the aircraft knowing that it is possible that Otto throws in the towel at high altitude and the human has to take over.

I know it's only a preliminary report but the BEA makes no reference to what the crew got up to in Rio, and whether they were properly rested in accordance with the rules.

There was no AOA indicator on the AF A330. I'm not sure whether it is an option. The BEA's latest report recommends that the reg. authorities study the case for making it mandatory.

How can AF explain that there is no-one clearly in charge in the cockpit after the Capt leaves?

Paying pax wouldn't believe it. This has nothing to do with PF / PNF.
