Big thanks DWB, well balanced post.
Was it configured heavy, I recall 447 was a tad over loaded on take off?

Agreed. Test pilots of Airbus gently dance on edge of the flight envelope to ensure that the a/c can return quickly. Crudely departing with high energy is undesirable as the energy/time required to...

QF72

Before you start attacking the dead pilots you need to do a bit more research here (http://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/investigation_reports/2008/aair/ao-2008-070.aspx). Are you aware that QF72 was...

Can a french aviator clarify the extent of usage of the word "stall" in their training.
Is the english "stall" widely used in French aviation training or is the native "décrochage" used?
Is hearing...

Reasons to ignore stall warnings:

Indeed, a major puzzle why ignore the stall warnings for 3 or 4 minutes? In the entire transcript of the incident not once was "stall" or "décrochage" ever mentioned by any of the 3 pilots.
Reasons...

Yes. I agree that PF was confused at best. What concerned me was that he could have hit his head as stated in the BEA report, which has never commented on in this forum (unless I missed it). ...
