Flying school is by no means a walk in the park regardless of the location chosen. Getting washed out is a reality at any stage. I was in 43 and had my highs and lows but it's how you pick yourself...

That simple test is just to gauge if you've met the minimum requirements. Ordinarily it should be 100%.

If not, you obviously won't get called for any interview.

Back in 2006 they advertised twice also, I don't know why everyone finds it strange this time round. Though I understand they took 20 and 18 recruits each time.

I agree, nine is quite a small number to send down south. But I wouldn't say KQ were in a particular rush to train more pilots since they already have the direct entry pilot program running as well....
