They could go back to traditional carrier names...

They could go back to traditional carrier names such as Saratoga, Hornet and Lexington etc. Better than naming them after politicians.

The RN already has pilots trainig with the USN on Super Hornets so a core of a squadron will be ready ( I think there are about twelve of them ). Speedy delivery should not be a problem if the USN...

If they do go down the Super Hornet (or F-35C )...

If they do go down the Super Hornet (or F-35C ) track I would suggest fitting bog standard USN catapults and arrestor gear. They are well proven and probably much cheaper than designing a new system...

More like it had a common engine with the F-15. The YF-17s were also using development engines while the YF-16 had the benift of fully developed F100s.

Maybe someone with the figures to hand can...
