Most layovers are 24 hours ! Only ULR flights are over that limit : LAX, SFO, IAH, YYZ are all over 48 hours . SYD is 48 hours when you do the long pairing DXB-BKK-SYD-CHC-SYD-BKK-DXB 24 hours in...

Jeans is fine for joining flight, as long as shoes are clean and shirt is nice !

On a general rule (real rule) when flying on staff ticket jeans are not allowed.

Smart Casual ... what does that mean ? not trashy not beach day casual, or after party drunken mess :) . i wore jeans clean shoes and polo shirt, how ever I was flying from New York, 14 hours later...

I would strongly recommend that you finish your study, I don't think Emirates takes in the fact that you are studying or not, some people come to Dubai thinking it's gonna last a contract and leave...
