They sure can climb. The 214B and 214ST have a limitation on the rate of climb which is 2000 fpm, above that roc if the engine quits, the blades will be stopped by the time you start descending again...

Did some research on my B47 and the only thing found was the serial#
Bell 47 G4A = 7519...

In Canada we do have the "type" system as well so...

In Canada we do have the "type" system as well so when you get the B47 type endorsement you get all the model of that type, I flew the G2, G4 and the J models.

I understand it is a stable external load but even then there is a limit on that.
