A much better outcome than turning back and spinning in. Landing in the traffic direction on a dual carriageway, where he could approach above legal traffic speed, then slow down to touch down below...

The prop is still turning as he taxies, so he had some power to help pick a spot.
I've always thought, wrongly, that traffic would slow down as I flared in front of them, If I had to land on a road.
