Hainan are usually pretty full (like Saudia) BUT the rates Hainan charge are ridiculously cheap. Quite a bit cheaper per kilo than the rest

don't forget it is also a big downgrade in cargo revenue (an often overlooked side revenue). they will lose about 3xPMCs (up to 12ton) of space with 787 from the 777.

LAX makes much more sense than SFO, surely if they are clever they will codeshare down to Oz with VA/DL and try to capture a share of the market
