NPPL V PPL eyesight standards.

Apologies if this has been covered already, at -7.75 dioptres I can't pass 'professional driver standard' for NPPL but PPL eyesight standard limit is -8 dioptres, is this correct?

NPPL/PPL eyesight.

If I understand correctly, NPPL eyesight standards are higher than PPL, any reason why? ( I can't be a professional lorry driver, but I could pass PPL!)
