30 hours should be more than adequate for anything I can think you're likely to try and do.

A few thoughts that may be helpful...

- I've seen very poor results from students at MSc or PhD...

Unfortunately, in my experience across universities that try to dabble in flight testing, at best 1 in 4 have somebody with any flight test...
