Exactly. It is not mandatory to go around - merely an alert. To continue with landing or go-around is a judgement call. Although not ideal, one can land 4000' down a long runway and be perfectly safe.

Yes. At midnight - and beyond. I hear there were delays after landing of up to 2 hours to get a gate. Hence the long line of aircraft on the taxiways. Craziest thing I've seen there.

Which is why we need as many pilots as possible, especially overseas based pilots who have a wish to return to NZ, to make at least a minimal submission to that effect. Immigration need to be flooded...
