They could have been going around one of the round-abouts in the airways ( i think theres a couple North of Leeds ). Uk aeroplanes turn left at these round-abouts, USA/ European make right turns.

Conversely.......i fly ferry flights regularly, and this sometimes involves flying back instructors. Nearly every flight, i have to repeatedly tell them to keep their big feet off the rudder pedals....

I use GPS111 regularly and have found re-chargeable batteries work fine. I asked at shop for 'longest life' batteries.....they (Dixons) suggested VARTA AA and Varta re-charger.

Just completed my first biennual (ppl). A beautiful day for flying. PFL's (overhead, d/wind etc), Flapless approach, steep turns, glide approaches, spiral dives etc. Thoroughly enjoyed it !!!

I flew into Crossland moor rwy25 last Oct'.....was quite challenging (but not too bad).....the scariest bit was seeing a massive dog near the bungalow....i thoughyt i was gonna get chewed to bits.

Visited twice last year......friendly and helpful.......quite a fair old walk to beach area though. Easy to spot....look out for Butlins camp. Definitely worth a trip.
