My understanding is that each airline is unique in the amounts it pays its crew in "meal allowances", "hourly rate", etc, and that those crews have different needs depending on who they work for....

Perhaps services left with the correct numbers of crew because displaced crew were shipped to the Park Inn and used to back fill operating services where crew failed to report, good for BA, at least...
