Flying down a fjord like Sondrestrom in a widebody must be hair raising seat of the pants stuff! What about the airfields in North Canada surely they are for twin otter types not Etops aircraft?

I understand but "change in wind" I’m stuck. How do IRS detect this? Is it the drift angle variations it requires...

I'm trying to get my head around IRS nav. If IRS is self-contained how does it correct for inaccuracies in forecast enroute winds when an aircraft is using IRS nav only?
