quite apart from anything alse making a low hours pilot nervous of air traffic could lead him to make dangerous errors through fear to tell atc anything...

because the approach radar controller at these airports doesn't automatically talk to the outbound aircraft, - only if there is a conflict. therefore the apc controller will need to identify the a/c....

rest assured that folk at these units in nats ARE trained locally on radar...
