This is the thing that's in the back of my head for this. Personally, I've wanted to fly for ages but only recently realised I could actually do it.... however I have a good paying steady IT job.......

the reason the Va increases with weight, is that it's just to do with stalling speed.... it's the speed you want...

I imagine the part of this that may be contentious is that by using the rudder to lift the wing, you are not necessarily "unstalling" the wing even if it is having a lower AoA, you are just allowing...

Personally, I have it on while I'm currently doing my PPL, tracking with CloudAhoy... but the next thing I do is mute it and stick it in my bag in the back seat. No airplane mode, but also no buzzing...

I would imagine the vast majority of CFIT is when the pilot cannot see the terrain... hence it's "controlled flight"... even in the model example, you have the luxury of being able to see the wall.....
