Thank you for that info. I did read that as well, but lets say I am coming to preflight where could I find that recorded? I am a bell guy and they made it easy… EEC something has been exceeded...

How does the EC 145 show exceedances?

I am new to the 145 and understand that a flight report will show a mast moment exceedance, or mast over torque. How then would you check an engine over torque or and OEI over torque? The best that i...

That makes lot of sense as to why an engine would get hot without exceeding Ng limits. Because the compressor might be in the backside of its optimum efficiency at a high power setting.

Obviously as in your wonderful example Ng and TOT are not linear as those ratios would be approximately 1:9, 1:12.5, and 1:10.5 but fuel flow and Ng would be wouldn’t they? I believe SLFMS is correct...

I agree 100% with the first part. I actually tried to find a chart showing the temperature gradient of compressed air. The only thing i could find were a few statements saying compressed air is...

Thank you for weighing in Apollo. I believe we are kind of saying the same thing aren’t we? I am implying that that compressor efficiency is directly related to Ng speed. So as Ng decreases...

I believe your last sentence is what stumps me. How could fuel flow and Ng not be linear assumed they are controlled by the FCU. If i could grasp how they are different, I believe that would help to...

High TOT in flight EP’s

How would lowering the collective (that is, reducing power) help to cool the engine? I
understand that it is less fuel, but less fuel means a lower Ng, so less air coming in since the compressor is...

Bell 407 Nr question

I had read, and don’t quote me but I believe it was from a Prouty or Coyle book that said the 407 was most effective and flew the best at a slower Nr but the engineers at Bell wanted to increase the...

Thank you vertical spin. I caught on to that as well when I read the comment by LRP and went straight to the GXi’s manufactures data to see what the differences were. Thank you for pointing it out!

Wonderful! Thank you so much for that information and the location on it!!! That explains why you have to reduce throttle quite a bit before you get an RPM droop. Thank you again!!

I guess one thing I’m still hung up on RVDT is that you say the FADEC is supplied with battery power for start. PMA takes over at 85% nP depending on voltage of it and the battery/ gen taking which...

That was my exact thought too LRP. Unless you killed the battery and gen under 85%np the FADEC should not lose power.
