I know an engineer who knows a bit about it....

I know an engineer who knows a bit about it. Nothing wrong with the winch . More likely that the red paint on the last couple of metres was ignored/ not spotted

Certainly wasn't backward in telling all of his achievements. Not surprised really that he's not all he claimed.
Not the first to be recruited into a nz government agency and later caught out ....
