I agree Hand Solo, I'm sub 1000 hours and able to handle radios and keep a scan going, especially if I was turning base on a visual approach. I would suspect a captain be able to do the same....

Heard the commotion as well, I personally always monitor guard, but I know many who turn it down or off especially over the UK....

There's not much typical about the roster unfortunately. Expect at random 4-7 days on, 2-4 days off. There's talk of a fixed 6-3-5-3 for those with more than 1 year in their current role. T&Cs vary...
