Evidently 5400 lbs of lithium batteries were in the cargo bay of MH370.

Is there any path for fumes or vapors from the cargo bay back into the passenger compartment?

i was thinking that this...

Swelling of lithium cells in cargo bay

A -4 psi delta pressure on a cell could cause the casing (metal or plastic) to bulge outward and deform the internal current collectors and create an internal short circuit. A shorted cell could...

B777 cargo bay pressures?

i was thinking about how the reduced pressure in the cargo bay might affect a box full of lithium battery cells. What would be a typical or lowest exected pressure (e.g. highest altimeter pressure)?

How long does it take to build a panel?

This looks like an interesting case study for an MBA program. You have to wonder if any changes were made with the 2010 change in ownership that affected the manufacturing and assembly process?...

1.3 nm

After looking at MM43's chart and the graphs and earthviews, etc. it appears that they made contact with trees almost exactly 1.3 nm before the TH.

This seems a strange coincidence with the 1.3...

G/S angle?

@MM43

The FAA LOC18 approach plate that aterpster showed earlier had TCH of 48' and G/S angle of 3.28. Did you have a different plate, or why did you use 3.20 on your excellent profile graphic?
