Maybe he was asking your height from sea level not the height above from the ground level..

I am currently at flight school
We use something like that when we are flying Vfr XCountry flights.....

I dont think that it will be taht long that Turkey will be part of EU. I just read toady at newspaper that process is started and there will be no VISA needed between EU and Turkey...
