I think one of the reasons for getting the Max at FZ, along with the lie flat seats in business etc, was to align the 2 products a lot better.

The Max grounding didnt help with that of course but...

Just shows how desperate EK is now.. I had 6300 hrs with 4500 jet and I wasn't considered qualified enough 8 months ago.. Now they taking pilots with no jet experience.. Glad I didn't wait for them...

Maybe they are forced to improve life at QR because from second hand info I heard, they have lost 100's of pilots lately. Even heard of a case where a crew flew to the UK in a B777 and then emailed...

flyer19832007, unless you have time on a 30ton plus aircraft at the very least, dont count on EK giving you an interview.

Even then, i know people with a few 1000 hours on crj700 types who...

yeah, but they were probably taken over 2 years ago.. as of jan 2012 they only take pilots with time on aircraft over 55tonne... unofficially

pity they still sticking to the over 30tonne rule though... You could have 10000hours as a PIC on CRJ's but be overlooked for someone who has 3000 tt on a boeing..

How much time to you actually need on a aircraft heavier than 30ton? At the roadshow they said just 1 hour is fine, but now i hear u need 2-300 hours?

In my opinion, SAX will not take DEC's on any fleet, unless there are extraordinary circumstances.. There are too many people waiting for upgrades at the moment and not enough movement in the market...
