Just a few observations from a commercial pilot with many hours in the 777 and 737:

-There are similarities with the Lion Air crash and the SFO disaster. I think both accidents could have avoided...

Too Low

No ILS glide slope and no PAPI. It is obvious what happened. VNAV is a good back up for a visual approach, unfortunately the "poor mans" glide slope is on the Navigation Display and not of the PFD...
