BUSS : Only For Electrically-Ruddered?

I do not know of any Airbus w/mechancial rudder having BUSS?
It is now standard on A333 Advanced and A380 .
Was standard on the defunct A345/A346 .
Has any come across a mechanically-ruddered...

Not having used a derate climb, I can't speak with authority if it will cancel that or not. Otherwise it is basically a speed on elevator selection (like FLCH or OP CLB) but the speed is...

Boeing Equivalents: EXPED - ALT - SRS

By Super Tom S.

1) EXPED has no exact Boeing equivalent, as far as I can tell. FLCH is closest but that's the normal open climb/descent mode for Boeing, there isn't a separate climb/descent and...

1)Any reason for the deletion?
Some SOPs forbade its use to save training costs?

2) Why was EXPED not carried over on the A330/A340?

Many thanks!

A320 EXPED Deleted?

As from MSN 5000, EXPED is no longer supplied on new A320 and variants.
This is the case for UL.
It now is an option.
Has anyone seen an A320 w/o EXPED?

Above FL250 Airbus says it does not "recommend" to use BUSS but that does not mean "do not use" and that it is non-functional.
If one is in an AF447 situation, you are better off using BUSS...

Therein lies (no pun intended) the most politicised rub.
In the interests of air safety, the BEA should have released the DCVR and DFDR in their entirety and not bowed to any pressures.
DCVR is...

The BUSS procedure for UAS are different from non-BUSS.
The BUSS procedure is now the norm for non-BUSS as well should there be any blocked AOAs, Pitots and Static Ports.

Good point!
So to recap for clarity's sake:
Pitots are probes.
AOA vanes are sensors.
Static ports are probes?Sensors?
Have static ports ever known to fail?
