i would probably go for the first idea as it said...

i would probably go for the first idea as it said he was doing 100 knots at 7000 feet. so vortex rings only occur at low speed as far as i am aware.

When checking the alignment on a helicopter, in this case a Lynx. Does anyone know what Q1, Q2, K1 and K2 stand for? Or what they are figures for?

On the Apache helicopter there is a driveshaft that runs next to the MRGB oil cooler and thus has an anti-flail device that prevents the shaft from whipping out of alignment and this not puncturing...
