EDP used on V2500 and CF6

I came across this msg "HYD DEMEN Pump 4". Could not figure out what it means. The pump seems to be working fine. Any idea what the msg means??

MD11 fault message

The pilot for MD11 reported the fault Hyd 2 Qty level low level, does this mean the hydraulic fluid level in the system is low or is the pressure low?

The message is then followed by Hyd 2 OFF...

Anybody know what is required to test one of these? Is there a test stand out there we can be used to test these components or do we need a wind tunnel together with a specialize test stand?

I read from somewhere that fixed displacement hyd motors are used to drive some flight controls. I thought they use actuators. Any idea on this?
