not so sure about that, in fact there are known cases, especially from aircraft crossing the ITZ, were exactly such a SAT temp "anomaly" happened, due to convective action BELOW the aircraft's flight...

I would assume that on the first approach on the first flight they probably added 20 - 40 knots to a theoretical Vref, just to make sure, which would explain the slightly nose down or "flat" attitude...
