Depends on the aircraft type and region in my opinion. I would say about 80% of the people I know in the bizjet industry work on a rotational contract.

We‘re using APG as well and are overall happy. Used Guru just for a short period of time on a different aircraft type in the past and wasn’t too impressed (compared to the manufacturer‘s software).

So if you renew your license having 4 or 5 ratings on it, it get‘s quite expensive I‘d say.

But overall it‘s not too bad, you‘re right.
