The information in the book will apply to any Newtonian reflector as well. An enclosed rear mirror substrate will not make you happy. The only reason I can imagine is a heavy shock environment.

The original engine ran warm. Are ALL the required baffles in place?
Not what it came with, what it was manufactured with.

Then as said above verify instrumentation and oil...

Question for Airbus experts

Would the APU have been running during departure or would they have to initiate start? Been a while since I played with one but remember about 30 seconds to get a small Airesearch on line.

Several recent CNN images of the AC secured to shore have the port wing clear of the water. I don't see an engine attached. I imagine NY has a couple barge cranes that can be in position by tomorrow...

Superb landing!

CNN just had an interview with an NTSB director who stated pilot reported birdstrikes 40 seconds into flight and then a call of both engines out to ATC at an unstated time later. I can't wait to see...

I just took a look at Google Earth and it shows that only the paved areas are flat. Everything else is drainage, ravines and rolling low hills. Older image as 34L is under construction
