It's pretty safe to say the runway was wet. And if they landed in heavy rain or after it had rained heavily, there would have been significant amounts of standing water on that non-grooved runway....

Depends upon why the engine failed. Most large outfits have spares. Weather or not the engine is repaired in-house also depends on who owns the engine, if the engine is on a maintenance plan, etc......
