It doesn't matter if the TOGA switch is inhibited after WOW, the GA procedure includes verify thrust which this crew simply did not do.

Consider if it had been a more normal GA as all airline...

Good point, they would have needed to manually add power. Even if they were confused like me :) and pressed TOGA then the lack of response would surely trigger them to pushing the levers forward.

I'm not a pilot, but have read the full report.

One thing I found interesting in the report was that the pilots may have mistaken the stall buffet for overspeed buffet (as mentioned in post 308)...

Engine 4 also non-normal

One thing that came out of the interview that I was not aware of was that Engine 4 was also in a degraded mode.

So number 2 burst, chunks cut some wiring to number 1 which goes in to a degraded...
