I have known companies trying to pinch pennies by selling off their blanks, rig pins and fly away kits to save money. They always regret it at some point later down the line.

Cant speak for the B777 but the A319/20/21 family have a disarm feature on the pax doors should they opened from the outside. The girt bar goes from being in an armed position to a disarmed position...
